Magnetic earrings, improved.
Magnetic earrings are not new, and we did not invent them. We looked at how traditional ones are built and redesigned the part behind the ear.
Where we started
Traditional magnetic earrings have a flat back.
Many traditional magnetic earrings hold on with a flat magnetic disc that sits on the skin behind the earlobe. It holds, but it is a different shape from the back of a pierced earring, and it can be seen from the side or from behind.
We wanted the back to look and sit more like a pierced earring, so we kept the magnetic idea and redesigned that part.
A stem instead of a disc
A slim magnetic stem sits behind the lobe in place of a flat disc.
A front that sits like a stud
The front rests flat against the outside of the lobe, where a pierced stud would sit.
Two sizes, one stem
6mm and 8mm fronts use the same stem, so the choice is about how they look.
What we are aiming for
Non-pierced earrings that feel less like a compromise.
The goal is a design that looks right from the front and is honest about how it behaves. Nothing goes through your ear. The earring is held by magnets on both sides of the lobe, so it can come off if it is pulled or knocked, and we do not recommend sleeping in it.
